FroYo officially released for the Nexus One.
by Chaz on Jun.29, 2010, under Uncategorized

Overnight Google has finally released the final build of FroYo for the Nexus One.
The previous leaked builds were only able to instalk on stock T-Mobile Nexus One’s but the final release is for all versions.
To get mine to update I had to invoke the checkin in my handset by keying *#*#2432546#*#* which made the handset check for an available update. A quick reboot and it was updated to build FRF85B.
Nexus owners, get prepared to update!

doubleTwist has recently been updated to include the ability io search for Android Market apps within the doubleTwist application.
I’ve not tried the update yet as I am currently using Banshee in the Ubuntu 10.4 beta to sync music with my Nexus One but I will give doubleTwist a whirl if the Android Market search feature ends up turning out good.
doubleTwist is turning into one of the most Android friendly sync applications available on Mac and Windows!

Sony: Don’t turn on your fat PS3!
by Chaz on Mar.01, 2010, under Uncategorized
It appears that a recent problem people thought was related to the PlayStation Network is in fact a hardware issues on the older, fat ps3 models.
In a recent post to the PlayStation Blog, Sony have suggested that owners of the fat PS3 give up gaming (or Blu-Ray for that matter) until the issue is sorted.
We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.
Looks like I’ll be leaving mine alone for a while. Slim owners are unaffected by this failure so slim owners – GAME ON!

I’ve got a new computer! Dell Mini 9 Hackintosh.
by Chaz on Feb.25, 2010, under Uncategorized
I’ve recently acquired a Dell Mini 9 Netbook and have set about installing Mac OS X Leopard on it.
It’s a very nice little machine, the Leopard installation was fiddly but easy (the 8GB SSD didn’t help) but i finally have it set up how I want it.
I’ve added it to the “my computers” section and I’m posting from it right now
