Well it’s happened again, another delay to the oft delayed Android 2.1 Hero update.

Please sir, can I have some Eclair?

Techradar have reported on a statement made by HTC stating that the update won’t be rolled out until Early June.

HTC will be providing a free update to Éclair for European HTC Hero variants. Starting in June,

Whilst Legend and Desire owners play with their Android 2.1 touting phones, Hero owners are stuck with Android 1.5 which in turn means no access to  apps like Google Navigation and Google Goggles. I think HTC should try to muster up a Sense UI free rom for people desperate to get onto the Android 2.1 bandwagon.

Well, less than 24 hours of recieving my Nexus One, I’ve listed my Hero on eBay UK. It was a great phone (and still is) so hopefully whomever buys it will enjoy it as much as I have.

Initial impressions are good. It seems far faster than the Hero (with the CPU bump you’d hope it was faster!). I need to spend more time with the thing but I’ve already got a good feeling about it. More posts to follow and (maybe) some videos of it against my HTC Hero.

The rom is very stable and is one of the best stock Android roms I have tried.
