Mobile World Congress announcements part 1: Samsung and SonyEricsson.
by Chaz on Feb.14, 2010, under Android, Smartphones
Here is a quick roundup of announcements from Samsung and SonyEricsson at Mobile World Congress in Barcalona today:
Samsung hit us with the Wave.
The Samsung Wave is announced. The first smartphone to run Bada OS and features a 1GHz CPU and a “Super OLED” screen. Shots of the handset in an Engaget hands on really do show off that fantastic Super OLED screen. How Bada develops as a smartphone OS is to be seen but the wave does look like a very nice handset! Opera to show sneak peak of Opera Mobile on iPhone at Mobile World Congress.
by Chaz on Feb.10, 2010, under Apple, Smartphones, Software
Opera have announced that they are going to preview an iPhone version of its mobile browser at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this month.
Opera Software, maker of the world’s most popular mobile Web browser, plans to reveal Opera Mini for iPhone in an exclusive press and partner preview during the 2010 Mobile World Congress (MWC)
If the application will be submitted to Apple for release on the app store or if it will get rejected is unknown at this point but it’s interesting to see that Opera have taken the effort to release develop the app on the iPhone.
Hopefully, an Android version will be released as I used to love Opera Mobile on Symbian and would like to try it again on my Nexus One.
